How excited were you when you heard that the freaking Dalai Lama was going to be coming to Albany? Then, how disappointed were you when you read that the Dalai Lama had canceled his visit to Albany due to the controversy surrounding an organization that you'd probably never heard of? Well cheer up all you Dalai Lama fans, cause it looks like you might be back in luck: I just received an e-mail from Keith Raniere, the "conceptual founder" of the World Ethical Foundations Consortium and founder of NXIVM, and he is claiming that the Dalai Lama is BACK ON.
According to Raniere:
According to the Times Union Center's Web site, Ringling Bros. Circus opens on May 6, so where is Raniere planning to hold his event? Dunno, yet. The Dalai Lama's own site still has no mention of any visit to Albany. Will the WEFC be renting space on SUNY campus again? Why did the Dalai Lama change his mind? I have asked Raniere these questions, so I guess we might find out in the next few days.
UPDATE:
The TU is speculating that the big event might be held at the Palace.
The TU is now reporting that the Dalai Lama will be speaking at the Palace Theater on May 6, which is confirmed by the Dalai Lama's own site.
If the second coming of the Dalai Lama to Albany is associated with NXIVM and Keith Raniere, then my original opinion that his first visit should be cancelled holds for his second planned visit.

Gee...I wonder how much more money the Bronfman brats had to shell out to bring the Dalai back so that Vanguard can pretend to be legit. And, since the's being paid so much, does the Dalai have to bow to Vanguard and Nurse Nancy?

Well, it seems to me that, if the Dalai Lama is coming to Albany, being paid by the Bronfman sisters, then it is more of the old Nxivm games.
But, if he is not being paid to come to Albany, then maybe there is a lot more positive to Nxivm than meets the eye. It is certainly confusing that someone like the Dalai Lama would, in spite of what the media says, still do a function with Nxivm.
Is there a way we can find out more about the terms of his visit?

The Dalai Lama still shouldn't come, not until he can come without that sponsorship. As of now, I'll strongly encourage anyone I talk to not to go, not to support that group.

M, do you really think the Dalai Lama couldn't come without "that sponsorship" if he wanted to? ::rolls eyes::
