Because everyone keep talking about them, for your background reading, here are some links to existing plans or the starts of plans in Albany:
Neighborhood Plans: South End/"Capital South," Arbor Hill, Midtown, and Park South
There are also a number of older neighborhood plans not listed on this site. I'm not sure if they're available in electronic format or not. I'll work on that.
Special area/projects: Harriman Campus, Albany Pine Bush Preserve Management Plans
Economic development/downtown: Capitalize Albany and ReCapitalize Albany
Sustainable Design Assessment Team (inital PowerPoint, not final report)
Not a plan, but relevant: Albany Convention Center
Which ones am I missing?
Unfortunately, the information on the website for Park South (the neighborhood I'm must familiar with)is considerably dated, it outlines an RFP process that was completed a couple of years ago. The current Park South Urban Renewal Plan isn't up online. Chris Leo, the listed contact, also left the Planning Dept. a while back. Even though Albany has a "new, updated" website, there are several gaps regarding information posted and not posted.

Thanks, Richard! That's disappointing, but not surprising, I'm afraid. I'm planning to sit down and read and comment all the things I linked to, but I haven't done it yet. I know when you look up Recap Albany on the main site there's no mention of the report being done either. Oy.
